Admission Criteria to Nursing Courses


1. Eligibility criteria for ANM programme as per the APNC:-


  1. The minimum educational requirements shall be 10+2 in Arts or Science passed with aggregate of 40% marks from recognized Board.
  2. Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by National Institute of Open Schools.
  3. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  4. Maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
  5. Student shall be medically fit.
  6. Student shall be admitted once in a year.
  7. Admission is only restricted to the students domicile of the state (As per the 7th Council Meeting of APNC)

2. Eligibility criteria for GNM programme as per the APNC:-


  1. Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.
  2. Minimum education:
    1. 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) aggregate of 45% mark and above.(As per the resolution adopted under APNC Examination Board Meeting)
    2. 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
  3. Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by National Institute of Open Schools.
  4. Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
  5. Student shall be medically fit.
  6. Student shall be admitted once in a year.
  7. Separately passed in English with aggregate of 40% marks and above.

3. Eligibility criteria for B.Sc (N) programme as per the INC adopted by APNC:-


  1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  2. Minimum education:
    1. 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.
  3. Student shall be medically fit.
  4. Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks.
  5. Student shall be admitted once in a year.

3. Eligibility criteria for M.Sc.(N) programme as per the INC :-


  1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
  2. The Minimum education requirements shall be the passing of: B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
  3. The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  4. Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  5. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
